Using cellular and Wi-Fi networks to control EV chargers adds cost and complexity while reducing reliability and security. Setting up the EV charger communications network varies from several minutes to several hours, and most electricians do not have the necessary training or experience.

Your smartphone is

the solution!

The driver’s smartphone uses cellular to connect with the DejaNetworks server and Bluetooth or NFC to connect with the EV charger, eliminating the need for a separate network connection. Eliminating the network simplifies charger installation, improves charger uptime, and significantly reduces cyber attacks.

  1. The DEJA server creates the security key and charger instructions, which are transmitted to the driver’s phone via cellular prior to arrival.

  2. Upon arrival, the phone pairs automatically and sends the key and commands to the charger using Bluetooth.

  3. The driver simply connects the EV to start the charging session.

  4. Upon departure, the phone automatically retrieves the session information from the charger.

  5. When in cellular range, the phone automatically sends the session information to the DEJA server.
